Global Inkwell
Christopher Fu
Co-Founder, Adviser
Hi! My name is Christopher, but please feel free to call me Chris. I'm from Short Hills, New Jersey, and I’m a student at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, USA.
Since I was a little kid, I’ve adored reading. My favorite novels include Kazuo Ishiguro's Never Let Me Go, Ann Patchett's Bel Canto, and Charlotte Brontë's Jane Eyre. My favorite short stories include Edgar Allen Poe's "The Casks of Amontillado" and Katherine Mansfield's "The Fly." One of my favorite personal essays is Melissa Cistaro's "The Catch."Â
I started seriously writing in seventh-grade. Originally, I wrote mostly sci-fi, but I've recently started writing more personal essays, realistic/historical fiction, and magical realism. Regarding workshop experience outside of the English classroom, I've attended the Sewanee Young Writers’ Conference, Kenyon Review Summer Online Workshop, and Iowa Young Writers’ Studio Summer Online Course. Because of my eye-opening experiences in these workshops, I decided to found Global Inkwell with the rest of my team to spread the richness and joy of cooperative writing to other young writers all around the world.
At Global Inkwell, I am a co-founder and a co-executive director. I am also the Global Inkwell website designer. Bye for now, and I hope to see you in our workshops soon!
