"Swallow You Whole"
Mannat Gupta
Love’s most lovely symbolism,
A perfectly twisted sense of affection.
Devouring you, bones and all is so...gutteral, mystical.
I hold your waist, burying my head in your neck
Canines tracing, digging, though never in haste.
I bite your layers off, my fingers delving, holding in the reck.
My wish to open you whole
To trace your organs and vessels;
For hell be damned, I want to consume your soul.
I want every secret, every thought, every emotion, POSSESS, even the rhythm of your heart
where I nestle.
Your phalanges are my necklace,
Clavicles holding me close in a deathy-warm embrace.
Rib-cage, the most glamorous corset to my dress.
An art so perfect, I can only, only marvel at the finesse.
Worship you wholly with an intention to devour
Infest your every bone and every crack
Drink from your life source till you tremble and cower
Let my heart be one with yours, beating in the places of the lack.
Disgustingly grotesque and exuberant
Yet, how do I love you without swallowing you whole?
The need to consume and to be consumed is iridescent.
I can just hack and claw at your soul.
Absolute carnage,
Before I settle down in the corners of your curves and every crevice,
Bleed you dry, all the while filling your wreckage.
Souls merged, my heart beating within yours; Throat choked, JUST these feelings can never
suffice.
