"Hawk Sky"

William Li, Pratyush Porwal, Amudha Srivastava, Ashaz Ahmad

A lone hawk preens like the monarch of the skies,
Certain, that its screech can still the sunrise.
The echoes of its call break the silence of the night,
Commanding with its might, the high skies.
It thinks it can conquer the heavens, oh so far from its reach,

Aiming for the moon, its wings can never meet.
A stretch made for god, a bedazzling flap;

Yet, a wistful screech as it falls back into mother's lap.
